Welcome to Eldrosia
The Known World of Eldrosia
Long before the rise of modern kingdoms, Eldrosia was shaped by the Great War, a cataclysm that nearly destroyed the world itself. Armies clashed, gods withdrew, and dragons vanished from the skies. At the heart of that war were the Dragon Speakers, mortals bound to dragons and wielders of devastating magic.
When the war ended, the Dragon Speakers were erased from history. Dragons were hunted. Magic was feared. And the world was fractured into uneasy kingdoms, each carrying scars they refuse to acknowledge.
Now, ancient powers stir once more. Old loyalties weaken. Long-buried truths begin to surface.
Eldrosia stands on the brink of remembering what it tried to forget.
The Kingdoms of Eldrosia
Aurelia - The Crowned Kingdom
Founded by the Dethol after the Great War, Aurelia stands as the dominant human kingdom of Eldrosia. Its people value strength, discipline, and order above all else, believing unity is the only defense against the chaos that once nearly destroyed the world. Though a small number of Sanya live within its borders, Aurelia remains firmly Dethol at its core.
“The Solarian Realms
Ancient elven kingdoms hidden beyond the Rosha Forest. Withdrawn from the affairs of men since the Great War, the Solarian elves guard secrets older than Aurelia itself and intervene only when the balance of the world is threatened.
Sanya Territories
A scattered collection of lands rather than a unified kingdom. The Sanya are bound by bloodlines, tradition, and magic rather than a single crown, leaving them vulnerable to outside influence and internal division.
The Nyraxian Wilds
Untamed forests and shadowed lands claimed by the Nyraxian elves. Feared and misunderstood, these territories are shaped as much by instinct and survival as by any form of governance.
The Dwarven Strongholds
Mountain-bound strongholds carved deep into stone. The dwarves remain insular but influential, their mastery of craft and warfare making them indispensable, and dangerous neighbors.
The Races of Eldrosia
The Dethol
The Dethol are a race of humans forged by war and legacy. Taller, stronger, and longer-lived than ordinary men, they were blessed long ago by an elven goddess after standing beside the elves in a great conflict. Though they resemble humans in appearance, the Dethol carry subtle silver streaks hidden within their hair, a quiet mark of that ancient blessing.
Dethol society values discipline, unity, and strength above all else. They founded the kingdom of Aurelia in the aftermath of the Great War and remain its dominant people. While few Dethol ever wield magic, those who do possess power rivaling that of the elves themselves. To the Dethol, magic is a rarity, respected, feared, and carefully controlled.
The Solarian Elves
The elves were once a single, mighty race warriors bound to the ethereal plane, wielding magic with unparalleled grace. Over time, philosophical division fractured their unity, giving rise to two distinct elven peoples: the Solari and the Nyxarian. Though divided in belief, both remain among the most ancient and powerful races in Eldrosia. The Solari believe nature is a force of light and goodness, one that must be protected from corruption at all costs. This belief led them to break away from their kin and establish the kingdom of Eloria in the northwestern reaches of Eldrosia. They live in harmony with nature through order, justice, and restraint.
The Solari revere Serapha, the goddess of light and justice, and Aurelia, the goddess of winds and guardian of travelers. Their greatest stronghold, Leukea, stands along the northern ocean, an unyielding fortress that serves as both symbol and sanctuary. Solari magic is disciplined and deliberate, guided by faith, law, and ancient tradition.
The Sanya
The Sanya are a human race defined by bloodlines, tradition, and magic. More naturally attuned to the arcane than any other human people, they have long been viewed with suspicion by their neighbors. Unlike the Dethol, the Sanya never formed a single unified kingdom, instead living in scattered territories bound by lineage rather than crown.
Sanya magic is more common, but less refined, often manifesting unpredictably. This has made them both valuable and dangerous in the eyes of other races. Though small Sanya communities exist within Aurelia, most remain beyond its borders, divided and vulnerable in a world that fears what it cannot fully control.
The Nyraxian Elves
The Nyxarian believe nature is neither wholly good nor evil, but chaotic, untamed, and beyond mortal judgment. To them, destruction and creation are inseparable truths. Rejecting the Solari pursuit of rigid order, the Nyxarian chose to remain within Eldrosia’s wilds, embracing a philosophy of balance through survival and adaptation.
Nyxarian magic is raw and deeply entwined with the land itself shifting, feral, and powerful. Their society is shaped not by crowns or cities, but by instinct, strength, and respect for the natural cycle of life and death. Though often feared and misunderstood, the Nyxarian do not see themselves as fallen. They believe they remained true to what the elves were always meant to be.
The Dwarves
The dwarves are an ancient race of craftsmen and warriors who dwell within mountain strongholds carved from stone. Bound by tradition and oath, they value endurance, legacy, and mastery of craft above all else. Dwarven society changes slowly, measured not in years but in generations.
Though isolationist by nature, the dwarves play a quiet but vital role in Eldrosia. Their forges shape weapons and armor unmatched in quality, and their alliances, once given, are rarely broken. They have little patience for magic they cannot understand, trusting instead in steel, stone, and honor.
Magic Myths and Legends of Eldrosia
Magic
Magic in Eldrosia is neither common nor kind.
After the Great War, the Dethol were blessed by an elven goddess, remade stronger and longer-lived, but largely severed from magic itself. When a Dethol does awaken sorcery, it is immense. Such power is rare, feared, and closely watched, for Dethol sorcerers wield magic with a force that rivals the elves.
The Sanya, untouched by divine blessing, retain a natural connection to magic. Their sorcery is more common and passed through bloodlines and tradition, often less refined but dangerously unpredictable. This imbalance has shaped centuries of mistrust, conflict, and control.
Magic is feared, regulated, and hidden across Eldrosia. Myths of Dragon Speakers and lost powers are dismissed as legend, and yet the world remembers what magic once destroyed.
Great War
The Great War was not a battle for territory, but for survival.
Ancient powers were unleashed, kingdoms were erased, and dragons vanished from the skies. At the height of the conflict, Dragon Speakers reshaped the world itself, forcing the gods to withdraw and leaving Eldrosia broken in their wake.
When the war finally ended, history was rewritten. Names were erased. Truth was buried. What remains is a fractured world built on the ruins of an age no one dares to remember.
Yet the scars of the Great War never truly healed and the world stands closer to its return than it believes.
Dragon Speakers
Dragon Speakers were neither kings nor gods, but something far more dangerous.
In the age before the Great War, they were mortals bound to dragons—their wills joined, their power magnified beyond any sorcerer or crown. Together, they wielded magic capable of reshaping nations and breaking armies in moments.
During the Great War, the Dragon Speakers became symbols of both salvation and destruction. When the war ended, they were erased from history. Dragons were hunted. Records were destroyed. Their existence was dismissed as myth.
Yet some legends refuse to fade. And not all bonds were broken.
